Port123— NTP
NTP (Network Time Protocol) synchronise les horloges des clients et serveurs via UDP 123. Une horloge système incorrecte fait échouer la validation des certificats TLS, perturbe l’ordre des journaux et invalide les verrous distribués.
Registry assignments, software defaults and local listeners are different things. A port number alone does not identify or secure a service.
Configuration and troubleshooting
Pour diagnostiquer la synchronisation horaire, vérifiez l’état NTP avec `timedatectl status`, puis les serveurs de référence et le décalage avec `chronyc sources -v` (chrony) ou `ntpstat` (ntpd). Le pare-feu doit autoriser UDP 123 en sortie ; pour un serveur NTP interne, autorisez UDP 123 en entrée depuis les clients. Les images cloud incluent généralement chrony configuré sur le miroir du fournisseur : vérifiez avant de le modifier.
Important limitations
NTP utilise uniquement UDP : un test TCP ne prouve rien sur la synchronisation horaire. Les services NTP publics sont détournés pour des attaques par amplification (monlist) ; limitez donc les requêtes à votre réseau.
